Are their any advantages to this? Anyone every try this?

I keep reading that it likes to be driven by current, but everyone just does the voltage driven model. If we make the driver constant current, wouldn't that take care of the effect of the resistance changing?

Resistance will change as the temperature of peltier changes.
A CC might decrease the output of the peltier

but on the hand this is not tried by me so I am skeptic. It could be a better method.

The apparent resistance doesn't change a lot, so there's not a big difference between a constant voltage or constant current strategy. People use whatever is easiest.
