I bought this drill motor off the Clearance isle in my favorite Industrial Tool Supply Store in Chicago in 2014. It sit on my shelf along with other projects until I retired and moved back to my home in S.E. Oklahoma in 2016. In 2016, I took it down and started trying to figure out how to wire it and kept getting sidetracked with other projects. It rained all day today and I was stuck in the house babysitting, so I gathered up my tools and parts and did this in my living room. When I plugged it in and it didn't blow the breaker, I was excited. When I turned it on and it worked, I was even more excited. Now, maybe I'll takle the Soft-Start problem.

I want to thank you all for your help. I would not have been able to do this without your input (Directions). I wish I could contribute to this site. I was a Project Manager for a Refinery Maintenance Company for the last 25 years of my career and I subcontracted all the electrical and instrumentation type work out to E&I Contractors because I didn't know anything about it and the owner of the company didn't want to take a chance. I troll this site without being able to offer any expertise, but I do participate in online forums where my career trainings do apply and thankful that I can help in those forums.

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving and hope your Christmas is even better.

PS I have another motor project that I will start soon. I think it is an easier project as far as the electrical goes, but you guys went through this one so fast, it looked easy too.

I know this is an old thread, but I am very glad I stumbled upon it. I just completely refurbished a Portomag magdrill with a Rockwell powerhead and I ran into a few issues when re wiring the dpdt switch and this forum and pics really helped me out. Thanks to all who participated.
