i've interfaced a 16x2 LCD with 89C51 and it is working perfectly. but i need to know some commands for LCD.( what should i pass to acc before callig command)
1) How to shift the cursor left and right ( i tried something and the cursor is moving, but the thing already in the display is distorted, ) I wanted to keep the display same. to use the cursor as a selection tool.

2) how to higlight a word or a bit position in screen. ( to show which one is selected)

3) Can i shift the display each line individually ?

the most important thing is changing the position of the cursor, always having trouble with it.
