Do these types of resistors exist?

I'm making a simple circuit which needs a couple of resistors, I was thinking it would be useful to have a resistor that can be swapped/removed easily and imagined a resistor with some type of connector at each end which you could then connect/disconnect wire to quickly - Do such things exist? Resistors with holes at either end that you could solder too would be useful when using thicker wire also.

You can insert the leads of 1/8 watt and 1/4 watt leaded resistor into IC sockets such as the one shown below.

It might even work with 1/2 watt resistors.

I simply bent the resistor leads at right angles to the axis of the resistor body so that the were spaced 0.3" (7.62 mm) and clipped them short enough for the resistors to be pushed all the down to the socket. The sockets held the resistors firmly. Not something I would suggest for production but handy for work in the lab.

I don't whether it helped, but as a precaution I usually cleaned the surface of the leads first.

Why is the power limited ? can't we use greater ones, like 1W or 2W ?
