How can I tell the difference between Power Inverter boxes advertised for sale as - modified sine wave/ corrected sine wave (square wave with rounded corners), as compared with true pure sine wave circuit output? The real sine wave type can handle inductive loads better, and can give higher peak pulse current for certain load circuit under burst mode, for low duty cycle use. The brand Lvyuan blue color box seems better for 600watts. Aliexpress direct from China free shipping $47.71, and bypassing Ebay fees charged. US socket, 12v to 220v AC 60 cycles. The cheaper ones are not sine wave. Maybe over $60.00 for a good one? Comments wanted.

Only get a true pure sine wave unit. for the cheap Chinese inverters, derate the continuous output to only 2/3 of the published continuous output and to get anywhere close to the rated peak pulse power, you will need big (2AWG or thicker) DC power cables so it will be able to deliver that peak power before going into protect shutdown in a few seconds.

You might get what You pay for if You stick to well known brands such as "Tripp-Lite" products.
Don't believe any claims on anything from China.

The choice of true sine wave versus "sort of sine wave" depends on what you are powering. Some devices will work very well on any wave form. My disc grinder and my power saw work very well on a square wave, but not the computer switch-mode supply. nor the DVD player.
