Hello all new to the forum and looki g for some advice on a project
So I’m wanting to build a disco light
Using 8 par 36 lamps 12v 50watt each
Can someone advise what transformer I would need and how it should be wired I’m thinking it should be parallel ?
240v-12v the old
I’ve calculated total watts is 8x50watt 400w

 

12V @400 W is 33 Amps, you woud be better using a Switchmode psu instead.

so the old type magnetic transformers wouldn’t work in this instance ? That’s what would have Been used years ago
So here I’d be pulling 33amps in total ? Seems quite a lot !
