I2S Bluetooth Module connects but plays no audio and disconnects after exactly 10 seconds

I am trying to build a slim Bluetooth speaker but I am very new to electronics. I got as far soldering a TinySine AudioB I2S V4 Bluetooth Digital Audio Receiver Module - I2S slave and two MAX98357 I2S 3W Class D Amplifier DAC Decoder Breakout Boards with wires to pins. It properly connects to my iPhone, but when I start streaming audio to it, it stays dead silent for exactly ten seconds, then disconnects completely. It never plays any audio cues whatsoever like "connected" or "paired", but I don't think the speakers are failing because I tapped them with wires off of a battery and they consistently crackled.

I currently have the voltage inputs and GNDs wired directly to my 3.7V 2600mAh battery with a connecter in between, I have the LRCK pin on the AudioB wired to the LRC on the amplifiers, BCK to BCLK, and the SD on the AudioB to the DIN on the amplifiers.

I started my problem solving by blankly staring at the speaker for a few minutes hoping it would magically start working, then checking the pins with a multimeter to make sure they were connected adequately, which they were.

Being my first time working with electronics, I have been trying to figure it out by reading forums, watching videos, asking AI, etc. At first I thought that it might've needed an antenna so I bought a Small 2.4GHz Antenna off amazon which didn't change any symptoms. Then I found out the both chips being "Slaves" means they need an external master clock so I purchased a Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32 C3 hoping I supply the master clock signals with that. I was reading mixed signals from the TinySine website, their customer support, and AI on whether the AudioB produced its own clock signals and ultimately couldn't figure it out. Last night, I thought that maybe connecting SD to DIN was wrong. Although I'm sure the answer is obvious to most people with more experience, I feel like I've fallen down a rabbit hole and can't tell right from left. Any advice is appreciated :)
