Moderators:
In the 2nd page of this thread, I somehow "broke AAC rules" and one or more posts were deleted.

https://forum.allaboutcircuits.com/...t-possible-with-modern-software.208207/page-2

I got this mysterious message in my Alerts box by some "?"Mod/Admin but no specifics.

Your post in the thread Is older manual PCB layout possible with modern softwarewas deleted. Reason: Welcome to AAC. Unfortunately, your post has been removed. You are free to repost it without the comments about other members. Please use the Report option at the bottom of a post, or on a member's information if you feel something needs to be addressed by the moderators. Reports are taken seriously by the moderation team.

I need to have the original deleted message (s) sent to my via PM or email so I can know what EXACTLY led to the CENSORSHIP.
Thanks!

Repost your question without mentioning ANY other member's names or anything they may or may not have said or done. The moderator's response seemed pretty clear and self-explanatory. Maybe you didn't notice that phrase in skimming over the response.

I have a copy now via PM. Thanks.
However, I make no apologies about the AAC "ethics" regarding that deleted post. I can send anyone a copy of that post via PM and let members decide.
That thread went significantly off topic ; which did not really help the orig, important topic of my OP.
Forum politics, echo chambers and filter bubbles of digressive eBBs, like AAC, is why most EE traffic now flourishes on places like Reddit.

If a thread, particularly one you started, goes off topic, then you should report the troublesome posts -- or report one of them and, in the report, explain the broader issue as you see it. Moderators only see a fraction of the posts and rely heavily on members bringing issues to our attention via reports. In the case of a thread going off topic, we can post a warning in the thread, temporarily lock the thread to let tempers calm down, issue private warnings to specific members, ban specific members from further participation in that thread, or, if the problem with a specific member is ongoing, issue a temporary or permanent ban to that member. In addition, of course, we can remove content that we feel is unacceptable (and this is very much a subjective call, no doubt about it).

When a member reports a specific post and that post clearly contains derogatory and inciteful comments, that post is generally removed without looking at any broader context (we don't have that kind of time). We primarily respond to the specific issues raised in the report that was made.

Keep in mind, no one is forced to participate here. If you find places like Reddit more to your liking and tastes, then you are certainly free to spend your time there instead with our best wishes. What you are not free to do is to try to sow discord here.

If you find more utility to Reddit than AAC, then Reddit is a better choice for you. AAC isn't here to meet your standards for utility. It serves the needs of many thousands of members, and represents an excellent resource for them. You may well not be numbered among us.

If you find the discursive nature of AAC somehow prevents you from taking advantage of the freely given benefit of highly experienced career professionals with eclectic experience and knowledge, then you might want to consider that you don't have to read the posts that aren't "on topic" in your estimation.

That said, the TS (Thread Starter, OP) has a great deal of latitude in controlling the topic flow of the threads they start, the report option allows you to alert the moderators to what you believe to be a problem. In most cases adjustments will be made to either prohibit or allow (yes, sometimes the TS wants the discursive talk) off-topic content according to TS preference.

Reddit, Stack Exchange, and others offer an excellent framework for those who want the constraints they place on interaction. We don't want or need to follow that here. Our membership is constantly growing, an indication there is a thriving audience for AAC.

I must say that the question was a good one, why when/if a post is deleted by moderators, is the "offender" not routinely sent a copy of said post?
