DC Voltage Doubler Booster Help PROJECT $$$

I am trying to make a project and I need help.

Basically I am trying to take a double A battery and increase it up to 4 - 6 volts.

I understand a dc voltage multiplier will do the trick, but I have no idea what to do with one. I bought a chip and fried it trying to solder it myself.

Or maybe a voltage booster.

I was wondering if you could supply me with something that could be as simple as 2 wires that would do the trick.

Something that can be adjustable in the output voltage would be really cool.

These chips I understand cost about $2.00 and I would pay you $30.00 a hour if you can do it. I would pay shipping and perhaps may need several hundred of these.

Anyone interested?

I think we can invest some cool things and I would consider partnering with someone as well.

Please email me back direct to <snip>
Sincerely,

Dave

I doubt that I would tackle that, but anyone who does will first need to know how much current you need to deliver to the load.

if you are going to tackle this yourself try using national semiconductor simpleswitchers.

although for something that low in input voltage a special low voltage controller chip with synchronous rectification is pretty much a must.
