Ok I have looked everywhere I can and can't get an answer. Ok I know the components of the booster but was wondering if you can use it after a switch. As in not always connected to power or does hit have to charge first and for how long we talking ms or seconds. Thanks

Huh? I have no idea what you are describing.
What is a booster?
What is a switch?
What are you charging?

then using a relay to activate a lock, basically supplying the relay 6v then boosting it up to 12v to activate the lock. And was wondering if you have to have constant power to the booster for it to work or will momentary power work. And only thing I'm talking about charging is the caps in the booster.

I think that's pretty much the same thins as the booster I'm talking about.

 

Oh...If you are wondering whether you can leave the booster off most of the time and only apply power to it when you want to operate the lock, the answer is yes.
