Just got a Pwm dc motor control from Amazon, which rated 48v. When 14v applied, the board lit up
And was able adjust a motor speed some. Obviously, it runs very slowly for motor rated 30v. When 28v battery is connected, the controller did not lit and did not do anything. It seems shut off.....due to high voltage? But....?
Pls comment if you have relative knowledge or experience. Thanks much in advance! Im trying to make do

Welcome to AAC! Your message has 4 different voltages for the same motor? Please supply motor specifications and voltages available.

 

The controller might be rated for 40 volts, but in this case the current rating also matters. Did the amazon listing even mention a current rating? What is the current requirement of the motor?? Did the controller even have any data sheet with instructions describing how to use it?? Probably not, I am guessing.
Do you even have a volt meter that you know how to use?

 

If this controller is for a DC brushed motor, test the controller with a lamp of suitable voltage.
Test the motor on an automotive battery and see if it runs OK.

Actual information about the controller will be much more useful than a link. That is assuming that the controller from amazon included any information at all.
Probably with only 14 volts the current was within the rating of the controller but with 28 volts applied the current was above the rating.

Did the controller shut off when you tried to run the motor? Or prior to trying to run the motor? Does the controller even have an OFF/ON control, or is it simply a speed controller? Did you get any information on using the controller??
