I need help figuring out how to go about repairing a circuit board. One part seems to of overheated and cracked and I'm not sure if it's possible just to replace that piece and solder it in place or not. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to AAC!

It depends on how many layers the board has and what caused the components to fail in the first place.

By layers, do you mean that one physical layer can be comprised of other layers?
There was a broken wire for the taillight that caused power to be connected intermittently until it completely failed.

By layers he means, the PCB may look like 1 piece of plastic, but inside there might be a lot of other layers which connect the components through internal buses.

In my opinion that appears to be a single layer board. A picture of the back would be helpful, as well as one with backlighting. Sometimes a board will pass some light and it’s a bit like taking an X-ray.

That one part is clearly burned, and the nearby connections could be repaired. But as noted, there’s no guarantee that will fix it. A schematic would help a lot!
