One of the absurd propositions from the far right is to condition Welfare payments being made only after passing a drug test. While it sounds reasonable, just how much would that require in the national budget to fund, regulate, and administer? I'm now worried about myself and my wife. 4 of our grandkids came to visit Christmas day, and we just heard all 4 have now tested positive for covid. They like their parents aren't vaccinated. They then all had to get tested at work a few times a week. Hope both of our boosters work.

The data was from a pretty small study in SA but the fact that new Delta quickly cases fall when Omicron enters the show implies that's likely the case.

Did you bother to go back to see the whole inter view that that clip was taken from? You do understand that even though he calls himself a "comedian" he's not really and when he tried to be one he was a failure. Taking something out of context some times makes it different than what it was.

She and everyone should understand it's just a matter of time before infection during this wave. The vast majority of individual mild cases will have 100% recoveries. Early detection and information by you is better than a late reaction due to symptoms from infection with some unknown source.

Looking for someone to blame is a very human weakness, my friend. On the other hand, people seem to have forgotten that from the very beginning the idea has been to "flatten the curve". And that means that eventually everyone (or at least the vast majority) is going to get infected. The plan was to avoid getting everyone infected at the same time so as not to collapse the health system. ... but the fact remains that every single one of us will most likely be infected at one point or another, with the vaccine being a defense system to accelerate recovery and prevent symptoms from being too severe and require hospitalization.

 

The more of this I read it has become Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be). People vaccinated to include booster are testing positive in droves. This includes members right here among us. What does seem to hold true is those who are vaccinated develop, for the most part, milder symptoms. This includes the elderly. At this point it would seem those of us who have managed to avoid COVID will eventually get COVID in one flavor or another. Whatever will be will be. Short of living in a bubble I see no way to avoid infection. This has managed to drag on for how long now and at what cost?

This has family divided which is simply unbelievable. I am seeing families at odds with each other. I believe they claimed the Civil War pitted brother against brother, well here we are today.

Tests are hard to come by. Province of BC does not seek to believe in rapid tests at all. And here is the best news of all - advice is to assume you have COVID and forego testing if you have mild sysmptoms. However, there are people developing long covid even after mild cases (most are younger women BTW, not surprisingly as that is the group more susceptible to autoimmune disorders). To access treatment you need a PCR verified COVID diagnosis! What a brilliant set up.

And the latest news is as follows: public health is looking into ways of letting workers who tested positive for COVID return to work faster to combat absenteeism.
