There are some amazing wonders on our planet. But few things have made us wonder more than how Andrew Cuomo, the Governor of New York still remains in office—especially after his botched handling of COVID-related nursing home deaths…
.
.
Of course, the media has conveniently treated Cuomo like a hero, since he often opposed President Trump. But now things are different: DeRosa has admitted that New York Democrats and other politicians cooked the books—and the COVID-related deaths in nursing homes were even higher.
PORTLAND, Ore. — While thousands of people are still waiting to get the vaccine, there is a large group not getting it when offered.
According to a report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about 62% of nursing home workers across the country have not gotten the vaccine.
The CDC looked at more than 11,000 senior living facilities that held one vaccination clinic between mid-December and mid-January. While 78% of residents got the shot, only 37.5% of staff members did.
...
It’s not just nursing home workers. Some hospital employees are also declining or refusing the COVID vaccine.
KGW Investigates checked with the major hospital systems in the Portland and found:
A spokesperson for OHSU said they don’t have a number of who refused of declined the vaccine. Kaiser and Legacy Health officials told KGW they don't keep track of how many employees declined the vaccine.
- 30% of 27,000 eligible Providence Health employees declined, said they’d wait or didn’t reply to the offer.
- 32% of the 4,5000 Salem Health employee declined the vaccine at this time.
It draws my attention how one group claims the numbers are cooked downwards, and the rest think they've been manipulated upwards... with most people agreeing that the numbers can't be trusted...
This is the moment people fled a packed illegal nightclub via its rooftop during a police raid in Birmingham.
Officers were pelted with bottles and one suffered a minor injury as a door was smashed open by people trying to break out.
Police discovered the venue, which boasted a VIP area and DJ, after spotting taxis dropping people off outside.
While it is convenient to point finger at Canada, something gets forgotten...Canada Extends Ban on Cruise Ships Until at Least 2022
Just got an email from my sister. I asked her to contact our cruise girl as during Jan and or Feb of 2022 I want to cruise the Caribbean again. This time I want to embark in San Diego hit a few Mexico ports then transition the Panama Canal (I love that thing) and then come up the other side eventually disembark in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Our cruise girl was butt deep with literally thousands of cruise cancellations for the summer Alaskan cruises which pass through Canadian waters. The entire season just went to heck. Here is what I fail to understand. These ships do not stop or anything in Canada, they merely pass through Canadian waters enroot to Alaska. Everyday I see more business and commerce destroyed over this COVID. While this will have no effect on my 2022 plans my heart goes out to the thousands who planned Alaska this summer. Booking now there are some good deals to be had and we normally book well in advance. My sister is always ready to join us.

I am not faulting Canada. Merely further pointing out how this COVID is crippling a global economy. While it is convenient to point finger at Canada, something gets forgotten...

As in solution is actually simple - either change the law, or finally force companies to register in their actual country of origin?
Royal Carribean - American incorporated in Liberia
Carnival - British/American incorporated in Panama
Etc
As far as Canada goes, it is in bad shape now lagging in vaccines way behind everyone else as none are made domestically. Economically this decision is bad for British Columbia as cruises bring a lot of money to Victoria, Vancouver and 3 years ago Prince Rupert was starting to get in in the action. I would expect that most people taking the cruises in a year will be Americans and likely vaccinated Americans!?
I don’t think that is correct. The application US Federal law REQUIRES that an international stop be made. All Alaskan cruises must stop for disembarkation at a Canadian port. Here is what I fail to understand. These ships do not stop or anything in Canada, they merely pass through Canadian waters enroot to Alaska.
Ah, I see that. They hit Victoria BC going or coming. All US with that exception. When we did it we departed Seattle and I really don't remember Victoria B.C. but apparently it was in there. Strange law? How about ship stops but nobody disembarks? Then continues. All I know is I want Panama Canal in 2022 and this time through it end to end.I don’t think that is correct. The application US Federal law REQUIRES that an international stop be made. All Alaskan cruises must stop for disembarkation at a Canadian port.
Gail and I are eligible to get an appointment in Mass tomorrow. Time to get up early and hit the web site!I'll let you know later how it hits me. First shot was an easy one. Our son who is a volunteer fireman already had his and felt pretty puny and fever w/ chills plus diarhea after his second.
