The COVID-19 map is currently undergoing maintenance. Thank you for your patience.
Seems so...

You know that stash of fast food napkins in your glove box? It’s their time to shine.

Mexican Deputy Health Secretary Hugo Lopez-Gatell has said authorities would consider mechanisms to control the flow of people entering Mexico from the United States in an effort to limit the spread of the coronavirus.

"The possible flow of coronavirus would come from the north to the south. If it were technically necessary, we would consider mechanisms of restriction or stronger surveillance," Lopez-Gatell said at a news conference on Thursday.

That's the heart of the question. Panic is absolutely warranted, if it would do any good. Governments seem to favor calm sheep and keep telling us not to panic. That worries me a lot, because it implies less than all out efforts are being made. It's quite possible that millions will die even IF we were to go all out. So this lackadaisical "don't panic" approach may look really stupid in a few months when the survivors have the clarity of hindsight and wish that much more had been done when we still had the chance.

Staying away from crowds and airports seems prudent. Take a multivitamin, get plenty of sleep. Are these precautions "panic"?
Six weeks later and we’re finally taking action. After it’s likely too late. Sigh.

Are you suggesting our 45 cases and 2 deaths have been cured by the sun?
It's not the sun that affects the propagation of Covid-19 - It's warm weather allows people to get outside of buildings and spread out from each other. There are mathematical models that show the rate of propagation VS population density and the probability of contracting a disease from another person drops when people can stay far away from each other.

Drive through tests have been started, but I see that you can count positives but it doesn’t stop it. You’ll know and will have to isolate but, at the end of the day it won’t stop it from spreading to family or friends if you have no idea you have it. I tried to get my grandchildren want to hug, the only thing I can do is not see them for awhile.

Re: COVID-19 -- To anyone losing sleep over this

Please --RELAX!-- COVID-19, although highly communicable, is almost certainly with 'background' or even sub-'background' pathogenicity! -- Indeed! The true 'hoax' is to be found in the shamefully exaggerated claims of COVID'-19's pathogenicity (said 'hoax' being wholly owned by the media whom, IMO, are without 'agenda' save their own profits via increased readership/viewership).

Also - Please understand that while comprehensive sampling ('testing') in the days/weeks to come may well (read: will very likely) reveal significantly greater numbers of infections/exposures than currently estimated - such should be no cause for heightened alarm! On the contrary! Such would serve to demonstrate a low order of pathogenicity (given COVID-19's rather abriviated incubation period)...

While I am not insensitive to the (sadly realistic) prospect of fatalities ranging into the tens of thousands (worldwide) - Please be advised that such represents a non-exceptional 'toll' by comparison with that taken by endemic contagions in any given year...

The real danger is to be found in the corollaries of panic!

In the words of FDR
let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is...fear itself — nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror...
Bright fella that!

Most sincerely
