Nothing to brag about.
That's for sure. This Coronavirus Measure was pushed by the Station Owners association (a yearly thing but this year there is something to hook into) and IMO there is about zero chance the buying public will see any reduction in gas prices because of it.

My point being there are far more non-anachronistic service jobs today than there are factory jobs since most manufacturing has left this country for lower-wage workers to cut the cost of goods production. A full-service stations gas-jockey did a lot more than just pump gas. Today's automobiles are far more reliable and need far less "fluid-checks" than they did in the past which has made the job anachronistic. As the ole boy said, "about as useful as tits on a boar hog".

Researchers Push for Mass Blood Tests as a Covid-19 Strategy
While it might seem wasteful to test the seemingly healthy, tracking antibodies could show how widely the virus has spread—and who may now be immune.
But a simple blood test, like the kind Zaaijer’s team will perform on the donated blood, can tell whether it carries antibodies to Covid-19, which are produced when a person’s immune system responds after an infection. Identifying what proportion of the population has already been infected is key to making the right decisions about containment. “We hope that this will show us how fast immunity is increasing in the population,” Zaaijer says. The eventual target? When 60 percent of the country’s population has antibodies to the disease. That’s when Zaaijer and other infectious disease experts hope the pandemic shuts down on its own, provided immunity is conferred and lasts.

I haven't seen a station that pumps for you around here for a long, long time.
Me either.

On a side note my friend works as a Aerospace Machinist, works for Clune Industries said there orders have fallen off drastically and most likely not be needed. But his lawyer in his settlement for a Motorcycle Accident said he might win big.

It's a source of employment that will be lost in a time when service jobs are dropping like flies.
Then perhaps Oregon should pass a law that requires that a grocery store employee wheel your cart out to your car and put the bags inside.

Or perhaps every business whose street address is odd must hire three people to dig holes three feet deep and each business with an even street address must hire three people to fill in three-foot deep holes.

That still happens here with people that need a little help (I've even been asked a few times) with the groceries. I think the law is out-dated but the reasons given for this temporary change are dubious.

The locally owned Mom and Pop gas stations in town plan to keep the gas attendants so it seems to be a good business decision for them to maintain the level of service and perhaps keep a relative employed.
