The way that any one should determine the reliability of an information source
is by first having an excellent education in History,
then You will have many points of reference to base decisions on.
You can't get an education on History in a classroom.
It takes Study, and hanging out with people who are
smarter and more experienced than You are,
then practice keeping your mouth shut, and your ears open,
long enough to formulate a significant question.
Then You observe how competent that person is at answering the question,
then You will start to develop a feel for who knows what they're talking about,
and who's blowing smoke up your butt.

Do this for ~20 or ~30-years, and You might think that now You know something,
but if you're actually smart,
You will come to the conclusion that You don't really know much at all.

But then the scary part comes, when You are surrounded by fools who
think that "only they" have everything figured-out,
and You're an idiot (or, place other derogatory label here) for disagreeing with them,
and they are perfectly willing to push You in front of a fast moving Bus for
questioning their vast "wisdom".

If You find an information source that claims to "have it all figured-out",
or that they are the "Authority" on the subject,
then You know for a certain fact that You are looking at a fool,
or a paid source of propaganda.

It may take years, or even decades, to determine what is true, and what is BS.

There You go, in a nut-shell .......
If You don't implement the above procedure,
at least to the best of your ability,
then You will wind-up acting like a Superstitious-Fool, guaranteed.

That's the guy I posted a link to in post #6639. Where I said that Paniced and LowiQ are on to something about vaccines being deadly.

They are the same ones who also claim the sources they do seem to use have no bias, when the rest of the world says otherwise?

 

There was a graph shown from the UN World Population Prospects showing a 1.09% decrease in the global population since 2014 that was somehow supposed to show " The Death-Rate is down by ~1% as compared to 2018. "? But arguing about it only brings you down to their level. Arguing with someone entrenched in their position is futile. The old adage of "opinions are like aholes, everybody has one and nobody likes to look at someone elses" comes to mind. Right or wrong it makes no difference... If you don't like what I say, that's OK, but I have better things to do than argue about it.

Anyone can find all sorts of documentation or Videos etc. to support their beliefs.
That doesn't mean that what they are presenting as "proof" is actually true.
This includes everybody, there are no exceptions.

The problem enters when someone refuses to
even look at an information source that is not on their "personal-list" of sources.

I have no intention playing the game of
"who can present the most volume of documentation"
that agrees with their beliefs.
It's a complete waste of time.
This is not a game that's worth playing.
People who are actually looking for answers,
don't start calling names as soon as something comes up that they don't agree with,
they go and look for themselves.

I could easily post a huge list of Links,
but nobody is asking any questions,
(although their may be lurkers who don't want to enter the fray),
and there's someone, or several people,
who are very quick to delete information, and/or, ban someone,
because they don't agree with what is being said.

I've spent years vetting the information sources that I follow,
they are actually only a very small percentage of the available sources,
maybe ~20 to ~30 sources,
and decades ago I identified a huge swath of sources that are
simply paid-off Propaganda Outlets,
which has been continuously validated by their overt actions, ( outright Lies ),
or, alternatively, some may have good intentions,
they're just not all that good at it, or not thorough enough.

Covid is mostly just a distraction from the
actually serious stuff going on behind the scenes.

The Main-Stream-Media "News" has basically turned into a Circus-Side-Show,
and a certain percentage of the population is so unbelievably obtuse that
they haven't even noticed how absurd and contradictory it has currently become.

If You are still using Google as a Search-Engine, You are definitely poorly informed.
Do a search for a controversial subject, or a current News Story,
then do the exact same search on Duck-Duck-Go Search Engine,
the results will be substantially different.

Instead of attempting to validate your existing beliefs when You read or hear
something that substantially differs from your current viewpoint,
don't You actually go and at least "look" and see if it makes any sense ??

You can certainly stay stuck in your little box, it's your Right to do so,
but when You actually attack differing information,
rather than actually having a 2-way, constructive, discussion on the subject,
you're only making your self look foolish and not helping anyone.

There are a few antivax people in Canada. Most of them had a rodeo and passed the Covid virus around with no masks and no distancing. Now their hospitals are over-filled with them causing the military to help bury them.
They are having another lockdown but it is too late for it. I am glad their area is far from me.

My area of Canada has more than 81% of eligible people fully vaccinated. Only the antivax people are going into the intensive care parts of hospitals for doctors to have ventilator machines make them breathe and maybe save some of them.
A few vaxed people are tested positive with the Covid virus but most have symptoms so minor that they do not notice.
