Meanwhile in BC:

Overall COVID deaths- 189. Overdose deaths for month of June - 175

And a true calamity, a casewas diagnosed over the weekend on the island of Haida Gwaii. A native community that has been trying to isolate themselves as they have limited resources and vulnerable population. Despite pointing fingers, it was a local resident that brought the virus to the island.

If any of you are thinking of sailing up to Alaska, dont. Visitors are not welcome. In my town there have been a few incidents with assumed non-local vehicles. It is very sad to watch human nature in action. Irrational fear is a horrible thing

Not to mention the case in an Amazon "untouched" tribe awhile back. Migratory bats? Jet streams? Who knows?

Did not know about that. Article reads very similar to ehat is happening here. The natives accuse government of proceeding with stage 3 reopening without consulting them... Meanwhile it is a one way deal - they did not want visitors but were free to go?

I think I have said this before - each one of us is responsible for our own health. I strongly believe if people understood this, things might get better.

When I was little I had just about every contageous disease there was, and very bad flus every year. We lived in a 2 bedroom apartment with my grandparents and my aunts family. There was never an instance where anything got passed from one family memeber to another because adults knew what to do.

Several studies have shown that people infected with Covid-19 tend to have T cells that can target the virus, regardless of whether they have experienced symptoms. So far, so normal. But scientists have also recently discovered that some people can test negative for antibodies against Covid-19 and positive for T cells that can identify the virus. This has led to suspicions that some level of immunity against the disease might be twice as common as was previously thought.

Most bizarrely of all, when researchers tested blood samples taken years before the pandemic started, they found T cells which were specifically tailored to detect proteins on the surface of Covid-19. This suggests that some people already had a pre-existing degree of resistance against the virus before it ever infected a human. And it appears to be surprisingly prevalent: 40-60% of unexposed individuals had these cells.
