Quite new to this just wondering if a pot will be enough to vary the signal smith enough for a 0-10v analog input for a variable speed drive

I have used just a simple linear pot to provide the control signal for a VS drive several times, and it has worked quite well. There are some precautions, which are to make sure that the 10 volt source is clean DC, and that the low side, (ground) is correctly connected. I have always used a 3 wire cable to keep the wires together, and sometimes used a shielded cable, with the shield connected to the shield terminal on the drive.
