Just make sure to double-check all your wiring connections to avoid any spritzen-sparksen (or the waste of a good fuse).

 

Would I be able to switch terminals 87 and 87a so that NC received power and NO was grounded? I feel more comfortable if both were grounded in the event both buttons were pushed at the same time as opposed to both receiving power.

Sure, but then both motor terminals would be at 12V when both buttons are not pressed.
