Hi guys

I have a surround sound system that is currently connected to a dvd player i have attached a pic for reference. what i want to do is somehow connect these to my PS4 and use the surround sound on that to watch movies and play games etc. The problem is i dont know how to connect what to where and what i would need to make this work ie an audio extractor or hdmi splitter, what is really throwing me is the fact that the cables are the push in type with the clamp and dont have any jacks on any of them. Please help :D

The wires shown are the speaker outputs, fl, fr, rl, rr, centre, etc, you need to feed your ps4 sound input to the amplifier Left and Right channels, what are the Red/White phono plugs on the far right for?

The hookup you need depends on what your amp is capable of using as an input. I'm assuming it does not accept HDMI, or you wouldn't be asking.

Can your amp accept optical digital audio input, also known as S/PDIF ?

The PS4 can route audio over either HDMI or optical. Those are both digital. If your amp cannot use either of those and requires analog inputs, you'll need a "breakout" or converter in between.

Some info here, for example, or:

If your amp cannot accept digital inputs, my advice is to consider an upgrade rather than spend money on adapters and such. You can get blu-ray quality out of the PS4. Don't cripple it with inadequate audio hardware.
