Hi guys
Am working in a project where a compressor and a condenser switch ON and OFF by sensing ice formation using 3 probes,one for providing PWM signals, other for sensing water and the last one for sensing ice. Every thing works fine but at the time when the ice reaches the ice sensing probe the relay which controls the compressor and condenser is not switching off, it toggles. How to recover from this? Any ideas from you guys?!

 

How are you controlling the Motor from the sensor. Your circuit details is important

 

How about installing a timer at the ice sensor, so once triggered, it will not restart until most of the ice has melted. An "ice-gone" switch would do the same thing. Wherever the ice is forming, you could use a temperature probe to be sure it is above some limit before restarting. Ford does something like that on its auto air conditioners.

Has the system always done this, or is this a new condition? If this is new, then something in the controller probably has died or drifted out of calibration.

Also, how fast is the relay toggling? Very slowly (tick...tick...tick) or quickly like a buzzer are two very different conditions.
