comparator with hysteresis, upper and lower trigger points

Hi

Please help me with this query. Thank you.

NOTE: In the reference, given at the bottom in the attachment, there is no mentioning of upper hysteresis limit. So, perhaps there is a typographical error.

It's a typo, but we can't tell for sure what it should read until we see the fig. 10 .
If it's the same as fig. 13.7 (inverting Schmitt trigger), Then the statement should read "The output snaps high when the input signal crosses the lower hysteresis limit in a negative-going direction, and it remains high until the signal crosses the upper limit in a positive-going direction."
Of course, you could deduce this by reading the upper part of your attachment.

The Figure 6-10 (which I think you were referring to) does not show any circuit. But as it has been suggested by someone that it could be the case that the top reference is talking about inverting Schmitt trigger and the other one about non-inverting configuration. Thanks.

Fig. 6-10 is obviously describing a noninverting Schmitt trigger.
