Clarity regarding 24 pin power supply pinout in ATX Motherboards

Hey all.

I was using a ADEX ATX Motherboard and now I want to swap it with a Portwell ATX motherboard. In the 24 pin power supply connector on the Portwell motherboard, I notice from the manual that the pinout is different from the ADEX Motherboard 24 pin connector.

Does this mean I won't be able to use the same power supply for the new motherboard? Is this usual for different motherboards to have different pinouts for their connectors?

I have attached the image of both the pinout diagrams (I have labelled the manufacturer in the bottom right of the image). Please let me know if anyone has any info on this.

Thanks.
Nio.

Looking at both side by side - on the EATX pin 8 is a "No Connection". The same pin on the ADEK is a "Power OK". I don't know if you need an indicator that there's power such as an LED indicator. Pin 20 EATX is -5V whereas pin 20 ADEK is "Res". I have no idea what that is but you're missing -5V at that point unless the "Res" is held at -5V. Pin 17 ADEK is "ATX PON" and I have no idea how that will interface with your computer. Pins 15, 17, 18 & 19 are grounds on the ADEK whereas on the EATX pin 13 seems to have nothing connected there.

If you are able to rewire the connector (pull the pins out and move them around you MIGHT be able to make it work. But then again you MIGHT be able to destroy your computer.

One last note: Neither diagram is for certain the power supply you mention. You call one an ADEX ATX but the diagram that might be similar is marked as ADEK. K versus X. Maybe it means nothing. The other supply you mention is "Portwell ATX" but the other diagram is for an EATX power supply. Personally I'd do a lot more research before moving pins around. Nowhere on the ADEK do I see a -5V. That may be important. So off hand I'd say "No, you can't swap one for the other. Even if you re-pin the connector.
