Oh I did take a picture but did not send it. I have the interface board in a box.

Have you connected the new encoder to see if it works as is?

If not, than an inverter gate on each output may do the trick.

I can do that. I think what will happen is that only every other click will work. I am also a little concerned if the board can handle the constant load. In the original encoder there is a pulse and then it goes to zero (no load). In the new encoder every other click will have a load on it ( as far as I can tell ). I wouldn't be happy if my new hobby blows up the drier All that said I probably can try.

The encoder I showed AEC16BR1E - well it was until I removed it

My apologies to all as I tied this wrong up. I searched for the encoder. With the correct shaft size and indents they are not available. I.searched for 2 weeks. I also replaced the board completely with a new.board and it's.working. This thread is.meant as.hardware hacking and learning about.circuit.to.retrofit the new.wheel into.the.old.circuit.board.and.see.if.It.works.sorry for the typos. I am outside on phone
