Chassis to GND in a potentiometer

Those extra pins are not connected to the pot at all. They are just the mechanical mounting and don't need to be connected at all.

That kind of pot has no other physical mounting point. Most are mechanically secured by a threaded shaft in a metal panel on the chassis.
Your model doesn't have a mounting point like that.
The tabs should be soldered to the PCB. If not, all mechanical stress from operations of the control will be place on the connections which are energized. They WILL fail sooner or later.

Thank you very much. In case one connect those extra pins to GND, it will cause any undesirable behaviour in the circuit?

Possible, I suppose, but very unlikely. The only effect I can think of is that it would make the potentiometer case into a partial electrostatic shield, thereby possibly having some slight beneficial effect in reducing electrical interference (if there is any to reduce).
