Hi everyone, I'm currently working on some electronics problems and would greatly appreciate your help. I've attached the questions along with images for better context. I'm looking for detailed explanations to understand the solutions thoroughly. Here are the questions:

I don't see any solutions to be explained.

If you have solutions that you don't understand, you need to post them.

If you don't have solutions, then you need to post your best attempt and we will help you get past whatever sticking point you have.

We won't do your homework for you.

Take the very first question. I am going to hazard a guess that whoever created that question doesn't know much about electronics.

Why do you say that?

You could certainly wire up that circuit and measure the output voltage under each of those conditions.

I don't see anything that would let any magic smoke out.

There is the issue of what model for the diode to use, but either it has been established which model should be used if none is specified, or the person can simply indicate which model they are using, and even that should only have a relatively minor effect on one of the answers.

Unless, of course, I'm missing something, which is always possible.

It's certainly a very contrived problem, which is pretty common at this level. The focus is on giving the student a puzzle to solve in which they need to use the knowledge from the current study focus to solve it.

At first, it has the appearance of being an diode logic gate, but students at this level have probably not been introduced to logic circuits in any course. My guess is that you and I have a tendency to see it as an attempt at a logic circuit and immediately see the really big issue that it would have. But it's not a logic circuit, though I wouldn't be surprised if that might have been some part of the inspiration for it.

Now that you point it out, I can see it now. I think the intent was to have a 2-input OR gate feed into a 2-input AND gate. But it failed.

You should look at one question at a time here.
Starting with the first one, do you know how regular diodes work?
