I came across these 8.8 inch strip-shaped IPS screen, with resolution 1920x 480, high brightness.
If you have seen the reversing camera with display unit that fit over the rear vision mirror, you will know the camera image is displayed in a tiny rectangle area of the mirror. Far from Ideal.
So what is involved to use the above monitor as the display for the rear camera.
I can imagine some of the issues eg
Matching the camera output signal to the monitor,
Horizontal flip of the image and,
How to control what part of the cameras 1080 pixels are selected to be displayed?
(Not good if the 1080 height is squished down to 480)
All input welcomed

Thanks
There is picture of the monitor here:

Thanks
I would prefer to avoid the old analog cameras if possible. Currently I am look Digital security cameras as an option.

That first display, which is the same as the one you linked, uses HDMI as you pointed out. HDMI is a digital format and you will have to use something that can provide that signal.

Using an analog camera will requite something to convert the composite signal it produces into the HDMI signal the display needs. It doesn't really make much sense to do that.
