OK- we'll slip series connected U3 E & F between W & U1-8, lower R36 to 560k to give about 100 ms
bounce protection. I don't see a problem with U3B-3 or power-up reset --yet?

eT can the program you use output a list of required components? CPC cant use the diagram and want a list of components... I've lost the thread of what is now needed and no longer needed since I created the shopping cart originally

Yes...but it will take a while for me to post the bom...

Byken, do not submit this list to CPC, you need to count like items and mark quantities on your basket.
There are some order codes already listed elsewhere that are missing on new list like line28- 30, 8, 12, 86, & breadboard. If I were ordering, I'd add some spares for IC's & LED's.

Right I've been through the shopping cart and everything but the capacitors and resistors match the schematic and bom list (what does bom stand for) ?

Capacitors
Originally we only had .22 and 4.7 capacitors is it correct that I need to order 0.01 and 0.1 types now as well?

Resistors
Didn't we combined the types down from the six types in the bom (1k, 10k, 250, 560k, 390, 1M) down to 10k, 390, 560k, 1M... Think my shopping cart showed the correct items for 10k, 560k, 1M but need some help for the proper part for the 390...

What's IC's Bernard?? The green LED's will have 5 spares and the red LED's 2 spares due to pack size. Do you think I should order more than 1 flashing LED?

Thanks Guys :)

Hi

BOM = Bill of Material = Parts List.
IC = Integrated Circuit

Here is a consolidated list of components.
Buy all the quantities on the consolidated list.
I didn't update the Ref field but the QTY's are accurate to the Schematic.
Capacitor voltages shown is minimum value.
Buy 1 spare Flashing LED. Buy 1 spare of each IC.

If I were a 3rd party: Hmmm, maybe it will work, but it looks too complicate for an inexperienced
constructor. If gutsy try it, if problems are too great try breaking it down into two non connected parts.
Maybe U1 & U2, and a clock.
Drop 250 ohm, use 1k in parallel with 390 = 280.
Soldered up circuit is not going well; had to replace U3 , one output was spontaneously changing state; now another section is doing the same thing.
Ckt. was drawing 80 mA with no LEDs. Dropped Vcc from 6V to 5.25 V, I now 40 mA
SRs used are 74LS164's

BOM:
Bread board not shown.
Line 4, CA06805, K104K15X7RF53H5, cap., 0.1uF, 50V, L0.07,15 +sp.
Line 5, .22 uF cap eliminated, replace with .1uF. Parallel C 16 with .1.
Line 6, CA08222, MCMHR25V47, cap., 4.7 uF., 25V, L .04
Line 7, D1, SC07296, 1N4148, diode, L .39
Line 11, SC08618, NE555P
Line 15, R 11, replace with 390 R
Line 16, MCF390R, 390R, R, 10k.
Line 17, MCF10k, RE03815, R, 10k.
Line 18, 1k, drop R 34-40, replace R 1-14 with 390 R.
Line 20, MCF560K, RE003834,R, 560k,
Change. R36, 560k, connects from U3F-13 to ground. W connects to U3F-13.

I think I've followed everything as needed and have updated the spreadsheet and then also keyed that into CPC's site to create a shopping list.

I couldn't find 0.01 capacitors and didn't look but will do to see if a large solder less board can be used instead of the solder able one a would rather.not doing much soldering :)

You can use .1 uF instead of .01 uF .
A solderless BB is a good plan; much easier to make corrections.
My soldered ckt. seem to be working , need to connect LEDs, install power SW & power socket.
It was not trouble free, replaced 74HC14 twice, one wiring error, & one hair thin solder bridge.
One tenth in. hole spacing seems more like 1 mm. but what can you expect from 91 year old eyes.

Hiya Bernard, think you've done a grand job with your 91 year old eyes.

I've replaced the capacitor as suggested but struggling on which breadboards to get as their are a few different ones and I'm a little lost... Price seems to vary massively.

PC02069 includes some cut & stripped wires, P C01233 does not.
If you are including LED's on prototype board, then I would order one of each.

Thanks Bernard, Yes I intend to use the breadboards as the final piece. In your option are the two breadboards big enough to house all the components then as the other (the red one) looks a lot bigger. I won't be able to use an adapter on mine as I'll be outside.. So will stick to the 4AA's is that enough?
