... As I recall there is an adjustable gap in the pick-up sensor. So if your system has a pick-up sensor, try moving it a little ... maybe closer ... to insure that the signal to fire is activated.

my bike ran normal when i re-installed the original CDI Ignition Control Unit.
so, i do not think the pick-up sensor caused anything.

Can the enclosure be opened? When you look inside is the circuit board visible?

I suspect it is potted (filled with something), and simply not repairable even if you knew what was wrong. If the board is not potted, please post some clear pictures of it.

If your old CDI died and this replacement CDI is also dead why wouldn't you search to find the real reason they died? You probably have another issue... have you checked you voltages?

the cheap bad CDI was potted, and it broke apart when i tried to open it.
my two good CDIs are also shown, not potted.
