I agree, but not because he aided someone that was injured, not because he saved that person's life, not because he's lost two sons, and not because he was captured in a now-famous photograph.

He's a hero because we ran toward the sound of the guns ... when he didn't have to.

And let's keep in mind that there were many, many people that did the same thing but whose pictures weren't captured.

I have to admit that it is hard for me not to have some degree of anger and disgust for the people that took all these pictures. Why weren't they helping out? I understand the notion, at least for professional photographers, that their "job" is to document things and tragedies like this do deserve documenting. But I could never do it. I could never place a higher priority on taking pictures than on helping in whatever way I could, even if it was just helping to keep onlookers back so that EMS can work.

Oh, and the interview cleared up what it was that he was holding in his hand. It wasn't a blood pressure cuff's bulb, it was the guys femoral artery from his left leg.

Thats what I thought the last time I looked for about 5 sec I thought he himself was holding a bandaged wound. But then it was just to blurry to speculate. I'm sure more pics will surface over the next week. I just wanna know who did this. Thats whats killing me! I was so happy when I heard they were making an arrest but I guess thats a no go. Hopefully they do have video of him though. Also the 9 year old that died his sister is in the hospital with a limb amputated. Didn't know if you heard that. I just can't imagine what these poor people are going thru. Its probably the worst way to loose someone.

Exactly.

I don't have a problem with people taking pictures as we have combat photographers in war to document what happens. As you say a true professionals job is to document and many have died doing that job plus the pictures are very important in a crime like this.

Here he is going over the fence to help with many others, Cowboy hat and flag in hand.

I was called to the Federal Building today in Springfield Mass...about 30 minutes away from where I live in Western Mass. as I usually just live up North in Spring and Summer although because of the Freeking Tornado that did damage to my Mass. home last year....Damn thing was in my Back Yard!...I have been spending alot of time here getting the place fixed up. A large Oak tree crashed into my Atrium.

Although there are alot of repotrs in the news...as well as reports about how close some groups are to making an arrest...they have pictures of some placing what they believe were the bombs at different parts of the Marathon Route...THERE IS A HELL OF A LOT MORE GOING ON!

The pressure coming from the Conservative side to Strike Back ASAP if it is determined to be an Oversea Terrorist Group...is great.

Just as much pressure is coming from the Democratic side of the aisle as the Dem's don't want to be seen as acting to slow or looking to weak.

All this B.S. Polotics aside...lies friends and associates of mine that are just trying to do their JOB and the Polotics just makes it even harder for them.

Anyways...Fed. Building...Springfield...I am hoping that they will take advice and post hundreds of Undercover Special Agent's at and around all Fed and State buildings, Public Transportation and Entertainment locations as well as do so in a way that is in the BEST INTEREST OF THE PUBLIC....not in the best interest of the Politiicians who will look good if the public sees hundreds to thousands of Police Officers in Uniform all around such places.

Now this may give people a sense of security prompting much Back Patting and saying...BOY! That Politician or Police Chief or Mayor....Made sure we were safe!

The only way to be safe is to catch these people and you are not going to do that if they see and thus stay away from Uniformed Officers.

GOD,i see one news ,more big bang. said 60-70 people died. in tx
I'm guessing (and that's all it is) that this will turn out to be a straight-up industrial accident. Of course, that does nothing to console the people injured or that lost loved ones or are now out of work. But it doesn't look to be the start of some wave of terrorist attacks.

Naw. We have the pictures of people placing the bombs at the street corners and other places.

On something that happened, what, five hours ago? Give it a rest.
Let me explain this better.

The FBI, NSA and Homeland Security are finding every person that was filmed being on that route and by using some NSA Supercomputing Abilities as well as ECHELON...are gathering all of these peoples Cell Phone Communications, GPS locations as well as any other electronic communication be it text, signal, picture, conversation...etc...and by doing this they can determine who was there...how the bombs were placed and by whom...who might have been talking on a cell right next to the bomb....if a Terrorist had their cell or any other electronic device...where it and they were and at what time. Accessing all security video.

Google ECHELON...and you will get a better picture.

Ah. I see. Makes perfect sense. So we don't have the pictures now, but you know that we will have them, meaning that you know that they exist to be had, meaning that you know that there were people planting the bombs on street corners (but not at the fertilizer plant?), even though we don't current have the pictures, because you are psychic. Got it.

You know...My Girl has the news on right now and if you turn on...I think it is CNN...they are showing to seperate videos....I saw one where it show's a man placing one of the bombs right at the edge of the sidewalk to the street next to the metal barrier.

There are thousands of phones and business cameras as well as Boston Transit Authority Street Cameras at every crossing.

We have the bombers pictures...now it is all about making sure we get everyone involved and figuring out who is behind it.

We pioneered that facial recognition system that was used at the last superbowl here. They wanted to see its limits and test it out. The turned it on and in like under 30 seconds it had found 3 people with warrants in the crowd. And this was 8 -10 years ago.

Yes. What they are doing is finding out who the fans were standing around the guy that left the bomb by the streets edge. Thus after they find out who was around him...and if they survived...they are asking these people questions to get the whole picture.

Echelon...the NSA Networked Supercomputing Electronic Communication detection system is a BEAST and it can not only find out what everyone was talking about over phones, laptops...etc...it can also access a persons Picture Files off a phone.

They already know most of the players involved...they just want to get all of them.

You won't believe it, but I met this guy a few years ago in DC. He and I were attending an event and he showed me some pictures of his son who was killed in Iraq (or Afghanistan, don't remember now) I have his pictures and pictures of his memorial somewhere. I didn't recognize him at first, but when they showed his picture of is son, I recognized that right away.
