I would like to build a converter in order to use my laptop in the car. The laptop uses 19.2V (it is a Fujitsu Siemens). Does anyone have any schematics and/or experience regarding this issue?

Go to the Linear Technology website and download Switcher CAD III/LTSPICE. Enter your parameters into the Switch Selector and presto an instant DC-DC converter complete with component values, power, and efficiency calculations.
