Hello,

Hope this is ok to post, looking for a knowledgeable person to give me a yes/ no answer.
My BMW CIC system has stopped working, can be one of several things - failed hard drive, failed qnx OS inside CIC head unit or idrive controller (susceptible to liquid damage) so Im going through the process of elimination.
The below photo Is the circuit board inside the idrive controller, what looks like damage circled in red, is it frazzled?
Many Thanks
ALan

That does look like the result of water. Careful cleaning of the area (you can use IPA) may restore operation if it is currently inoperable.

I will try that, thank you. There was also a small burnt stain that i wiped accidentally wiped off with my finger, and the white residue you see in the photo. Thanks again.
