Hello, I inherited an electric sign and would love to fire it up. It requires 7v ac so far I can't find the original and hate to buy one. I have found a 10-12v ac power supply (little black box plugs into wall) I would like to know how to cut that down to 7v. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

I don't think I have ever seen a 7 VAC wall wart.
The basic premise here is that, out of voltage, current, resistance, and power, we need any two of them to do the math.

Seven volts 5 amps? I'm getting nothing on vendor sites. Get your flashlight and magnifying glass and see if you missed the first two numbers, as in, "117 VAC". Any sign of a power cord or a hole for a power cord? How about a photo of the insides? Does it have a fuse you can read? (It's Sherlock time.)
