In over 40 years of working in electronics I have met only 2 people that were able to get an engineering job without a degree, and they both had the same complaint which was they were the lowest paid "engineer" in the company.

You have publicly cut your own throat by declaring yourself too good for university. If you don't bleed to death in the meantime, you are going to have to abundantly prove yourself correct by amassing a sufficient volume of outstanding work or get incredibly lucky by finding someone who will take a chance on you and your attitude. Your exceptionally good work is going to have to prove to prospective employers that it outweighs having to accept your ego along with it.

The very fact you are asking if employers require degrees says you know nothing about the state of the industry.
I AM too good for university. There's nothing strange about that. Isaac Newton was. Einstein was. Euler was. Gauss was. I am.

I don't see the connection between not knowing about the state of the industry and knowing electronics. You lost me there buddy.

Pardon me. Stay in school.
If you've been trying to be ironic sorry you failed.

The very fact you are asking if employers require degrees says you know nothing about the state of the industry.

Wow!! You are a genius !!!!

isn't that the reason why I came here to ask about it in the first place?

Genius engineers you and your friends who clicked "like" on your post !!!

Oh my god I am impressed !!!!

Genius guys !!!

A degree is just an indication that you have the minimum requirement standard to do the job. I have worked in the engineering field for over 25 years and I have yet to see an employer ask an engineer to produce the degree (maybe a PE seal if needed). That is because most had experience to back it up. For new engineers the school name played a significant factor in getting employed.

But you are absolutely right that a degree is a waist of money for the knowledge that you get, but without it you will be always limited to ONLY work for people who already know about your capability of and they are willing to take the liability on your behalf (this is without bringing the salary compensation into the conversation).

An alternative for you, if you do not what to physically go to school is to look into online certified schools or check to see if the existing school has advance placement for the remaining courses.
