Hello everyone,
Im dealing with a strange issue on my Beats Solo 3 headphones. The power on/off button (the circular one with the white LED) has stopped responding, but the LED still lights up.
Here’s what’s going on:
I replaced the battery, thinking that might fix the issue. After installing the new battery, the headphones powered on, and the LED lit up white. However, I noticed that the only way to power on the device now is by unplugging and reconnecting the battery cable. This action also puts the Solo 3 into pairing mode, which usually should be done via the power button. Unfortunately, the button itself does nothing when pressed or held—it just lights up the LED.
I opened up the headphones and checked the connections. The button’s circuit connects to the electronics via a small board with five wires. I tested each wire for continuity, and everything seemed fine. There were no shorts, and the connections were solid. The fact that the LED lights up means to me that the electronics on the button’s end are working.
But the button remains unresponsive... I can’t turn the device on/off or initiate pairing using it. The only way to power the headphones is by charging the battery, and pairing only works if I unplug and replug the battery cable.
I’m out of ideas on what to try next. Can this be a problem with the electronics, or is there a chance it’s related to the software or firmware? Do anyone experienced something similar or have any suggestions?
Thanks.
