MrAl, are we sure that is correct? 120 kW is 120,000 watts right so 120000 Watts / 120 Volts = 1,000 Amps. Am I missing something in there?

Hi,

Yes of course i left off one zero, thanks.

120kW at 120v means 1000 amps, and that's way too much.

After thinking about it some more, i realized that this will probably (hopefully) handled the same way we handle gas cars today and that is we go to the gas station. So the gas station alone will have to have the capability not necessarily the home.

Also, i have read now that a 5 minute charge will get you something like 250 miles, and so a 60 second charge, 50 miles.
That's hard to believe, but that's what the one company i read about says they can do now. We'll see how this works out in the future. I look forward to many explosions at the 'gas' pump soon as mistakes are made and problems overlooked :)
