Actually if the DRL is a PWM signal according to the listing on the LED bulbs it should be able to handle it just fine. It may be brighter than a standard DRL setup.

 

My old 2007 Yukon XL the DRL were the low beam headlamps and used PWM. Evening they ran under full power.

It seems 2007 / 2008 is a breaking point for trucks schematic wise. Maybe 2008 they went to a CAN system and changed a few other things? I know my 2004 still has the single wire serial... some sort of PWM / variable data rate from what I can tell.
