OK Ken, I like your perspective.
We have all seen those labels on the back of consumer equipment:
"No user serviceable components inside."
or
"Service only by qualified personnel."
I consider myself "qualified personnel". So when I go inside mains powered equipment, the circuitry between the AC LIVE mains, fuse, switch, primary winding and back to AC NEUTRAL is straight forward enough and I understand what "isolation" means.
As "qualified personnel", the switcher is LIVE as far as I am concerned... and that's why I'm still around to post this!
