What components do I need to make the following prototype of a necklace:

My product is a safety necklace, which acts as both a video recorder and an alert system.

When the necklace is pressed at the front and the back of the pendant the necklace begins to video record and also connects to an app. When the necklace has been activated, the app will send an alert to family members, friends or the police. This alert will provide the contact (eg. friend) with the user's GPS location and details through the app.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Welcome to All About Circuits!

We may all agree that that sounds like a brilliant idea. Why didn't I think of this before?

The problem is in the electronics and packaging. All the components you need to implement your idea already exist in your smartphone. Would anyone be comfortable physically wearing a smartphone as a necklace? Seems like a bit of a heavy burden.

There is another route a designer can take. Some clever designer can put a small camera and battery in the necklace. That is really all the heavy electronics that would be required. Then the necklace would call up your smartphone wirelessly and let the smartphone do all the heavy lifting.

Go and get a patent quick. Then take your idea to a electronics design engineering company and let them take it from there.
