I'm trying to figure out how to use two pc817 optocoupler's as a gate driver for a IRFZ44N mosfet. My senior design team is using the mosfet as a switch in our buck converter/solar charge controller that we are designing. The solar panel has between 17-21v and supplies 10W going to a 12v deep cycle marine battery. The trouble i am having is finding an electrical schematic that shows the configuration of (Arduino/pc817/mosfet) so that we can use the mosfet as a switch. I appreciate your time and any information that you may have.

If I understand you correctly, you need this.:

 

Why are you using the optoisolator in the first place? Isolation? If that’s the objective, then ignore this.

With a logic level MOSFET, such as an IRLZ44N, you can drive a load directly.
