Arduino and Xbee wireless control for long distances?

NodeMCU ESP8266 programs directly from the Arduino IDE. I've built a few....some connect devices to Alexa and others to a webpage. Remember...these devices are WiFi and therefore must be in range. If you want to send signals farther, go with an Arduino Nano and an HC12 wireless transceiver...good for a Km+ in the clear.
