Ha! we still have knife sharpeners walking down the street down here... they go around playing a funny sounding flute as their traditional way of announcing themselves...

Ours sharpened knives and repaired umbrellas. He would ring a bicycle bell.

Egg store. We had one that sold fresh eggs laid right on the premises, along with live chickens that they would slaughter for you. This place was in town.
