A truly embarrassing incident, I must say. I don't like politics, and I dislike politicians even more ... The incident was about a couple of members of congress that refused to get down from the podium as a sign of protest against an unfair law that is being imposed by the currently dominant party ... the party that I did not vote for, and let's leave it at that.

Ya gotta shake your head at the crap people come up with.

I have no idea regarding everything that was at the show, but it sounds like Samsung's refrigerator taking Worst in Show was well deserved.

More and more I find myself saying, "But I just want something that does this one thing and does it reliably." And more and more I find that, despite being a solved problem long ago, those simple things just don't exist anymore. Everything has to have endless, usually useless, 'features'.

He does have some Russian heritage via a great grandfather on his mother’s side, but both of his biological parents were born in the Portland area and have primarily German, Irish and Swiss roots, they said. And when he described himself as a horse trainer with a ranch in Washington, he was working at Jiffy Lube.
Matthew ... Mateo ... what's a little phonetic difference between friends? ... Seriously now, I'll never understand people being so bored as to look for trouble not in the name of justice but based on lies and falsehoods ...

EDIT: I think I'm beginning to understand:

Court documents say Matthew Hofmann has at least a dozen felony convictions over the past 25 years, including theft, unlawful use of a weapon and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Or even a better understanding:

On Christmas Eve, the account began promoting a GoFundMe page titled “Stand with Portland’s Immigrant Families.” Proceeds from the fundraiser list “Mateo Garcia” as the beneficiary.

I would really really like to see the ROI spreadsheet of this "project" ... I'm sure that their scheduling and financial calculations must be flawless and pristine, not to mention with a solid attachment to reality:

Wealthy adventure seekers can now book a vacation on the moon through a California-based start-up, which plans to open a hotel on Earth's celestial companion by 2032. The aspiring space tourists have to put down a hefty deposit of $1,000,000 to be among the first to visit what the company claims will be "the first-ever permanent off-Earth structure."

Like the old saying goes, there's a sucker born every minute.

Anyone foolish enough to pay deserves to be swindled. No one ever said it better than John Bridges.
