PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Rhode Island is one of the few places where people can still be punished with “civil death” and civil rights advocates want the century-old practice to stop.

Inmates serving life in prison are deemed dead, by Rhode Island statute, with respect to property rights, the bond of matrimony and other civil rights, as if their natural death took place when they were convicted.
...
In denying his appeal, the Rhode Island Supreme Court references its decision last year that struck down a negligence lawsuit brought by another prisoner. The court decided Dana Gallop couldn’t sue the Department of Corrections over his attack by another prisoner because he’s dead.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nicolas Cage has filed for an annulment four days after getting married in Las Vegas.

A court record shows Cage asked for the annulment Wednesday citing reasons that included being too drunk to understand his actions when he married girlfriend Erika Koike.

Cage, whose real name is Nicolas Kim Coppola, says he and Koike drank "to the point of intoxication" before the wedding Saturday.

One might ask why it took him four days to sober up enough to file for an annulment!
Company where I used to work, we had a client in Bremerton (Bremerton Navel Hospital) . We would stay at a Holiday Inn on Kitsap somewhere. Since it was a long trip for us in the east our SOP was to show up at the client, check in, then head to the hotel.

One day I went to check in. The clerk (he knew me and of course where I worked) chucked and said oh look you are getting the John Smith (don't remember the guy's real name ) . I looked at him quizzingly and asked him what he meant.

The clerk said you know John Smith a co-worker of yours. He said oh he must have left before you started. You never heard the story? No I said. The clerk said well one time he came out here on a Monday and never checked in with the client. He didn't check in with them on Tuesday either, The client called your company and the company was unaware that he did not check in with the client and really didn't talk to him since he left Pittsburgh. The company called the hotel but when they rang his room there was no answer. They finally found him on Wednesday. Face down on the floor drunk with the patio door opened and snow blowing into the room.

Apparently the maid did not enter the room on Tuesday, perhaps she heard a noise or maybe he hung the do not disturb sign. Anyway the guy must have been drunk for 3 days. So I can soo how 4 days is possible.

It's easy to get hammered when 'free' drinks are flowing. I was ordering shots of Bulleit rye from the nice drink lady with good tips for fast service. At the end of a long night at the table I gave her a nice tip to stop serving me drinks but she still gave me one more for that long trip to the room.

So you think a right wing conspiracy site is better? History, not the channel but history says it's a different story than that guy Ever hear the term "Dixiecrat"? That is where today's republican party's belief system comes from. And guess when the Dixiecrats started? They are no longer the party of Lincoln, even though they claim they are.
Nope. That's just a Democrat talking point, ie. lie.

Who's really racist?

Democrats

History reveals that every piece of racist legislation that was ever passed and every racist terrorist attack that was ever inflicted on African Americans, was initiated by the members of the Democratic Party. From the formation of the Democratic Party in 1792 to the Civil Rights movement of 1960's,
