I hope it is still there by end of June. I should be going right past the place on my why down to Oregon City. Speaking of which, do you know Oregon City? I can only find a very expensive Best Western there. Pretty much need to stay in the area to make the bicycle ride to Salem a relative short one the next day. And I sort of want to come down that side of the river so I can take the Trolly Trail most of the way.

Don't live near there but it has a reputation for being less than a good tourist stop. :D

Not sure I follow. It is not a great place or it is? Reviews say it is alright. At least the elevator. Elevator looks cool. For me Oregon City is just a place to sleep to get ready for my ride down the Wilamette Valley. I wanted to stop at Boring too for a photo op but it is a bit out of the way just for that. And I crossed the gorge off of my list as a side trip. :( But the logistics of the side trip plus not knowing if the road was going to be open were a bit much to handle. Adding too much stress and this trip is all about low stress. Hence the low daily miles.

For a overnight rest stop it's a ok place at a decent motel. I would call most of the town 'low-rent' but clean. Are you taking something close to this trail?

Off the end of the Trolley Trail. Close to the start of the Willamette Valley Bikeway. Canbay has a motel, I could make that first day but motel gets pretty low ratings. If I have to, I will spend the $160 for the Best Western. It looks like it is the only game in town. ;) At least according to the searches but I don't know how many times I found tons of motels after rolling into town that I did not find online. :(

In role reversal, drug dealers take the stand at criminal trial of Baltimore Police officers

http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/crime/bs-md-gttf-day-five-20180131-story.html

Police stole Oreese Stevenson’s house keys in March 2016, entered his home without a warrant, broke open a safe and stole more than $100,000, he and the convicted officers testified.

Stevenson told a federal grand jury he had as much as 10 kilograms of cocaine at his home, some of which also was taken. That amount would sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Have you ever checked out AirB and B? Often get a good cheap place just to spend the night.
Max.

None there. Seems Oregon City is a ghost town. ;) There is a cycle touring host there. He has not yet responded to my email. I am going to give it a couple of months and give him a call as his number is published.
