As a side note, the mother of a friend of mine was so forgetful that one time when she drove to a friend's hose to play cards she was given a ride back home by one of her friends because she had forgotten she had taken the car!

I have heard that in Lapland thousands of reindeer are culled every year probably to prevent overgrazing of limited pasture land. It's regretable that so many reindeer are killed by freight trains in Norway but perhaps it balances out in the long run and less culling would occur. All the same I think some sort of barrier would be preferable.
