Now they tell us about extraterrestrial life driving cars on Jupiter’s moons.Eventually, quantum teleportation in space could even allow researchers to combine photons from satellites to make a distributed telescope with an effective aperture the size of Earth — and enormous resolution. “You could not just see planets,” says Kwiat, “but in principle read licence plates on Jupiter’s moons.”

I hope that 7% of Americans have a good sense of humor."... a survey commissioned by the Center has found that a whopping 7 percent of Americans still think that chocolate milk comes directly out of a brown cow."

I doubt it has anything to do with humor at all:I hope that 7% of Americans have a good sense of humor.
I doubt it has anything to do with humor at all:
"The nationally representative survey gets more alarming. Forty-eight percent of respondents admitted they weren't sure where chocolate milk comes from."
Emphasis mine.... although I'll give that last piece of data the benefit of the doubt... maybe the question itself was not formulated properly... an ambiguous question like "where does chocolate milk come from?" makes one wonder: What do they mean by "where"?
In that case we should open a books thread... I'm something of a read-aholic myself ... These past years I set myself a rule. For every book of fiction that I read, the next one would be non-fiction. Be it science, history or whatever. Just something that allows me to learn something about the real world. My mother used to tutor a woman for reading. That woman had no idea milk comes from a cow (at least in the US). When asked she would answer "the grocery store".
When I retire I would like to be involved in a similar program for reading. I have always considering reading the single most important skill a human can pocess. Know how to read well and the knowledge you can acquire becomes almost unlimited.

Fiction is beautiful, but it's like eating too much cake... it's delicious but it disconnects you with reality.
It's never too late to pick it back up...While I have a firm belief in the power of reading I don't do much myself. Kind of sad since I used to be a voracious reader.
I have one of those disguised as an Air Conditioning filter grille.I discovered that it wasn't a power socket at all, just looked like one externally but in fact was a concealed strongbox.
A group of teenage girls who Tasered a pizza delivery man at a Gresham apartment complex last September and then made off with his pizzas have all been sentenced to three years of probation.
The four teens -- ages 17 and 18 -- were caught later that night after a police dog tracked them to a house on the same block around 2 a.m. Sept. 30. Police saw them eating pizza through a window of the home.
