And now for something weird...

This is a well known accident with hot air balloons. All the crew are trained to understand this issue. I mean this problem goes back for at least a century. Sorry for his death.

How/why does it happen? He forgets to let go? He gets entangled? Either? Something else?

He panics ... and instinctively holds on. A sad and deadly choice.

There's a very tragic video out there of two or three guys back in the beginning of the 20th century that held on to a zeppelin class aircraft with fatal consequences.

A message regarding false rumours, from the Director of the PSB

For several months now, the Public Schools Branch has fielded calls, been sent emails and been pointed to numerous social media posts that make broad sweeping assertions regarding students who identify as cats. Many of these assertions claim that schools have or are in the process of having litter boxes placed in schools. This claim as well as many others are simply false and are causing unnecessary stress to students and staff. The Public Schools Branch supports all students and their personal expressions, however, such conjecture is not helpful and contravenes our Safe and Caring Learning Environment Policy. Concerns related to student matters should be addressed at the school level.

I've never really understood it I guess... I grew up in a house with one bathroom that everybody used. It had a door on it and a lock if you were so inclined. Then in first grade they had 2 large bathrooms without locks on the doors but there was a latch on each bathroom stall. For some odd reason one was for boys and one was for girls. OK, whatever, didn't make a whole lot of sense since each classroom had a small bathroom that everybody used if they really had to and couldn't wait for break to use one of the big ones. It stayed that way until I went to college. Then they had mixed dorms with one large bathroom on each floor. Each stall had door with a latch and each shower cubicle had a curtain to pull closed if you wished. Bathrobes seemed to be very popular and the "in thing" to have so I got one. So why do they need a litterbox?

Decades ago, I need to use the convenience at a gas station somewhere in California's Mojave desert. The MEN's room was occupied for a while, but the WOMEN's room was unoccupied for a time. So I used it. When I came out there were two women waiting outside the door and when they saw me they acted like they had just witnessed the rape and murder of a priest. Back then it was not illegal, but unthinkable at the same time.

Woman cuts rope holding painters on a condo building in Thailand
A woman, resident of a high-rise condo building in Thailand cuts the support rope for two painters (as recorded in video below), apparently upset that she hadn’t been informed they would be doing work, and left them hanging above the 26th floor until a couple rescued them, AP reported Wednesday.

Nichanan Toh, 34, was accompanied by her lawyer when she admitted at Pak Kret police station on Oct 12 to cutting the safety rope used by workers assigned to do repair work on the exterior of the condo in Nonthaburi province’s Pak Kret district.
