hello again,, how hard would it be to make the volt/amp guage of my psu a digital display in stead of analog? its a variable supply with a pot. knob not a switch so when rolling up the voltage the display would have to roll with it?

probably simple..
If the analog meter is full scale (so if Vin to meter = Vout) then just buy a digital meter and hook it up to it.... Note you will need a constant voltage for the power supply of the digital meter too..

so that's it? the digital meter hooks right up to the same wires that the analog one uses? I just figured there would be something tricky about it..

We can make it tricky if you prefer. ;)

The Red Lion PDF give you an idea what is needed, there are various models with varying complexity.

Easy. We used to get self contained dig displays where the full scale was selectable as either 200 mV or 2V.

Be careful... A lot of the inexpensive DPMs cannot share a common connection between their own power pins and the negative of the voltage they are measuring... The more expensive ones usually can...

I think I would like to build my own using 7 segment led displays.. I feel I could a lot from a project like that.. so where do I start?
